As a company we are always upgrading, selling and installing new equipment. We keep our clients on the cutting edge. The older equipment that still works fine is usually sold off for a minimal return, or discarded. The Tech Equip program was developed to take that working equipment, service it, and send it over to places in need.

I spent a week in the ghettos of Dominican Republic last year helping an organization that works with the poor and homeless. I helped with the construction of a community center, and I learnt that I'm terrible at laying cement. We went to a hospital to visit the sick, but the reality is that I'm not a doctor. We worked in the schools with children and I realized I'm not a teacher either. Although I tried my best I wasn't running at my full potential until I was asked to give some input on how the sound system should be installed.

Back in Canada, I work in the audio & visual industry. We design and install sound, lighting and video systems for all sorts of venues. With the technology education being as it is in the third world countries, being able to offer professional advice actually made a difference.

I realize that having good sound was not going to save a life, but its what I do. It might be what you do! It could be our part in what will be a great story about how we helped people in need. Its what I could offer. The story isn't about me. Tech Equip is a tree in the story of a forest.
